Heavenly Father we say thank you for another wonderful opportunity to meet again, we thank you for your love and care, we receive openness to your word and let your word speak to our lives... In Jesus name we pray.. Amen.
TOPIC: BE THANKFUL
TEXT: Psalm 95:2, Psalm 100:1-5
🙏 Make a joyful noise unto
the LORD, all ye lands.
Serve the LORD with
gladness: come before his
presence with singing.
Know ye that the LORD
he is God: it is he that hath
made us, and not we
ourselves; we are his people,
and the sheep of his pasture.
Enter into his gates with
thanksgiving, and into his
courts with praise: be
thankful unto him, and bless
his name.
For the LORD is good;
his mercy is everlasting; and
his truth endureth to all
generation
🙏 To be thankful literarily means to be full of Thanks or appreciation. It is an expression of gratitude to someone. Thankfulness in this context is an act of Thanksgiving or a show of gratitude to God.
🙏Though some people are ungrateful for various reasons, we must not be ingrates Because of its attendant daggers
🙏 Let's look at Reasons and Benefits of Thanksgiving
It's a command. 1 Chronicles 16:8 it says..
Give thanks unto the
LORD, call upon his name,
make known his deeds
among the people
🙏Philippians 4:6 went further it says... Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by
prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let
your requests be made known unto God.
🙏The next reason is that, we thank God for victories over battles of life... Jonah 2:9 says. But I will sacrifice unto thee with the voice of
thanksgiving; I will pay that that I have
vowed. Salvation is of the LORD.
🙏It is important to thank God for His Mercy and divine provisions. Psalm 68:19 says..
Blessed be the Lord, who daily loadeth us
with benefits, even the God of our salvation.
🙏Thanksgiving is offered to God for His miracles and restoration of hope. 1 Samuel 2:1-5, Psalm 116:1-2
🙏The primary reason God created us in His image is for fellowship, Thanksgiving, praise and a joyful heart. Isaiah 43:21 says... This people have I formed for myself; they
shall shew forth my praise.
🙏If you will cultivate the habit of showing gratitude to God, you will compel overflowing blessings from Him. These blessings include
🙏Answers to prayer John 11:41-44
🙏Abundant provision Mark 8:6-9
🙏Deliverance from bondage.. Act 16:25-26
🙏Thankful people are peaceful and Joyful.. Philippians 4:6-8
🙏They enjoy divine presence.. Psalm 22:3
🙏Complete restoration, that's wholesomeness. Luke 17:16-19
🙏We are alive, we lost loved ones last year, but God in His infinite mercy kept you, why won't you be grateful... It's not because of our certificate or personal hygiene.. But just because of his mercy.. Hallelujah 🙌
🙏There are Dangers of ingratitude... As we begin this year, let's ensure that daily we give thanks to God... Never go a moment without saying Thank you Jesus
🙏Ingratitude is the result of vain imagination and a darkened heart. Sometimes your Thanksgiving is senseless to the ordinary person but it is more profitable to be thankful than to grumble or complain. Rom 1:12, Prov. 15:8
🙏There are several reasons people are ungrateful to God. Sin or spiritual blindness. Eph 4:17-18.
🙏Refusal to take account of what God has done. Rom 1:21, Pride too is a factor. Act 12:21-23
🙏Every act of ingratitude comes with attendant danger.
👉Risk of losing the existing blessing
👉Losing salvation and heaven. Matt 25:24,25 and 30
👉Limiting one's blessings or answered prayer. Luke 17:12-16,19
👉Emptiness and sorrow is inevitable. Prov 15:13, 17:22, thereby making restoration practically difficult.
🙏In conclusion, showing of gratitude to God ensures continuous divine presence and fellowship
🙏The life of a sinner is an issue to be a grateful heart, if you want to give your life to Jesus Christ kindly say this short prayer.
🙇♂Father I thank you because you love and died for me on the cross of Calvary, please forgive me as a sinner, accept me as thine and let your blood wash away my sins... In Jesus mighty name I pray.
🙏Shall we pray, Almighty God we say thank you for your awesomeness... We pray as we begin this year with you please accept our Thanksgiving.. Bless Us in every area of our life and prosper the works of our hands.. In Jesus mighty name we pray... Amen.
